  2. Contact your supervisor immediately if you feel you have been exposed to infectious materials.
  3. Look before grabbing trash bags, always grab the top handle to pick up trash.
  4. Make sure all containers of blood or potentially infectious material are labeled and disposed of properly.
  5. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  6. Do not handle biohazard containers.
  7. Use protection kit for handling blood or OPIM.
  8. Wash hands frequently and always after the removal of PPE.
  9. Healthcare cleaners with potential exposure to blood or OPIM are entitled to a free hepatitis “B” vaccine.
